i would say that is a bit contraversial, ok, its an add to make you more aware of motorcyclists but can you imagine one if the people coming off those
bikes at any speed, let alone high speed,

Yip, I also try my utmost to let bikes through either on the open road or in town and to be fair I usually get a little wave as they go past.
If it makes you feel any better, I nearly got side-swiped by a bus in Glasgow where it was joining an urban dual carriageway from my right as I was in
lane 2. The guy behind flashed his headlights to let the bus come out but somehow the bus didn't see me at all and missed me by millimeters at
most! It would have hit me if I hadn't swerved which was a bit tricky with another car to my left. I couldn't believe it had happened! Okay,
my car is only a little Toyota Aygo but it was in broad daylight and visibility was perfect.
I think my message is, that there are bad drivers in (and on) all sorts of vehicles and the only difference is that the smaller vehicles are more
difficult to see and more likely to get hit and of those, motorcycles offer little protection to the rider. There are minor shunts all over town every
day between 4 wheeled vehicles and these result in frustration and paperwork. A similar shunt involving a bike tends to result in a visit to A &
E...
In my opinion motorists should be tested every few years for vision, hazard perception and reaction to emergency as well as perhaps an update on
changes to laws and highway code. I also think that it should be mandatory for all motorists to be certified in first aid. Perhaps such measures could
be introduced voluntarily in return for reduced insurance costs or something. I know I'd sign up.

i think the ad is aimed more towards the likes if the old dear that pulled out in front of me today on a 60mph single lane road, causing me to need to
brake sharpish, then she did 20mph. and a mile down the road took the outside lane on a roundabout when she was turning right, decided she was in the
wrong lane and nearly cut the front off my car. i wasn't impressed b y her observation....
i think everyone can be guilty of lacking in observation sometimes. people do need reminding!

I DID get sideswiped buy a bus a year or so back. Then he claimed it was my fault, and since there were no witnesses it went down to 50:50, and cost
me £300

what about bringing in something like high vsability motorbike clothing(i am aware that some motorcyclists do wear high vis vests etc), in my
experience alot of bikers where black leathers, these make bikers difficult to see in the dark (there are of course other alternatives, coloured
leathers etc) but what about the manufacturers of bikers clothing coming into help out more by incorporating high vis parts to the outfit which make
riders easier to see.
