It's a shame in my view. The FIAs handling of the product that is F1 has been pi$$ poor lately. I would have liked to have seen a championship
run with the FOTA rules.
As for two championships causing a dilution of the sport I very much doubt it. This sport's biggest problem is that it has a monopoly and hence
little reason to innovate and improve.

depends how you view F1 is it a sport or a Show most think it is a sport but after the last 2 years I would say its a 'circus show'.

I'd put a fiver on Max not going this year after all, unless the WMSC have said they wouldn't vote for him. Looks like FOTA may have managed to out-manoeuvre him this time, maybe....

Personally, I couldn't give a toss about F1 anymore, it's dull and tedious compared to club racing (Locosts at Snetterton for £12 entry as
an example) and BTCC which gets my ticket money every time.

Formula 1 is not a sport. There is no emotion, no cut and thrust.
A car breaks down they just turn away and pack up, just like going home from the office.

the easily Max seems to believe in the divine right of the FIA (for FIA read Max Mosley) -- expect Max will have cunning plan to make his resignation
invalid but still try to bind FOCA teams to the new agreement. Even worse would be a an FIA run by Alan Donelly or Jean Todt.

If only Ferrari hadn't been lead by the nose into a pointless bloody war with McLaren by Todt and Moseley the whole situation would never have
occurred.
I certainly won't shed a tear when (if) Max goes, but half of the problems are caused by Bernie lining his pockets. The decent tracks can't afford to pay his exorbitant fees to host a race, so we're left with govt sponsored races at pants tracks in asia with no support whatsoever, while those fans still able to go to a decent race at a decent track have to pay through the nose. But apparently it's the teams that need to cut costs....
