Anyone changed a n.s. outer 98 Fiesta c.v. joint? I need to and havn't. Any advice gratefully received.

if your keeping the car for a while, I'd recommend you buy a manual for it. Remember to slacken both the wheel nuts and the hub nut before jacking the car up.

It's really the "tricks of the trade" that are often missed by Haynes manuals that I'm fishing for.

Not a bad job, once you undone the pinch bolt, put a wedge in the gap makes removing the bottom arm much easier. Also have a manual on CD.

Lads got a complete Fiesta on the drive waiting for a trip to the scrap yard, engine is knackered.

Dave.

I would suggest getting an exchange recon driveshaft and replacing the whole lot rather then fiddling about replacing just the outer CV joint - unless it's just the rubber boot you need to replace.
