I have got a slight problem! I have a 2001 mondeo with a 2ltr duratec engine, on my way home from work my oil light came on i stopped asap got out checked my oil level and it was between the min and max on the dipstick, so i carried on carefully but had to over take a tractor and i noticed as i reved it a bit the lighht went out (over about 2.5k - 3k revs) and if i keep the revs up the light stayed out but as soon as the revs dropped it came back on! Anyone have any ideas?
Could be a faulty oil light pressure switch, OR, it could be an oil pressure problem. I would recommend that you get it checked immediately, best way would be to get a proper oil pressure guage put on to the engine to see what is happening. The ONLY way to be sure.
Hmmm, might take it off my eBay watching list then....
anone have any idea where the oil pressure sensor would be on a duratec engine?
if i remember the duratec has problems with oil pressure and crank bearings

Check the pressure with a proper oil pressure gauge before doing anything else.
