Advise needed
kipper - 6/7/09 at 08:31 PM

A bit delicate this one, I answered an ad in the for sale section on lcb for some equipement, agreed a price and sent off a cheque telling the seller to just wait till the cheque clears and then send on the goods, all nice and freindly like.
Needless to say the goods havn't been sent.
I would have thought people on here were quite trustworthy but I think I have been had. He wont answer u2u or e mails.
Any advise would be appreciated
Regards Kipper.

Is the guy involved still logging onto lcb ?

How long have you been waiting?

has the cheque actually cleared the funds from your account, basically has the cheque been presented to the sellers bank for payment? if not then stop the cheque.

tho it sounds odd that the seller isn,t responding to your contact, tho maybe a genuine reason for this, ill health etc. or am i too trusting too

Could he be on holiday ?
if he was last on here 1.7.09

kipper - 6/7/09 at 08:51 PM

He read my last u2u asking for info on the 29 June

As above, next step is to see if the cheque has cleared your account.

If it hasn't then just cancel it. It will cost you a tenner but the rest will be safe.

If it has been cashed then name and shame might be the way forward

As you may have noticed from all the other posts, you don't *have* to put a full stop in the Subject field each time!

Cheers,
