Blimey, what a figure for a engine
<--- clicky
How much BHP you recon this would make and wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a new Cosworth Duratec or so
Yes, cheaper to get a Duratec but these are now historic engines and this floats the boat of the MK1 escort boys and other race car owners.
It will make pretty good power but will be very poor on the £ per BHP equation.
Should be at least 200bhp I would have thought. Convert it back to its original methanol-spec (should just have to change the timing?) and you could
be looking at 300bhp.
I can't imagine it's the most tractable engine in a road car though.

Doesn't seem too bad for a good spec BDA when you consider the price that a good, rust free Mk1 or Mk2 shell fetches.
A friend has spent quite a lot more than that on his Mi16 engine, getting serious power out of small normally aspirated engines costs serious money.
I believe that is not too out of the way for one of those.
I have certainly heard of them going for a lot more.
The best sounding engine ever produced by ford, its at petty good money as well. If only i had a few thousand sitting spare

Nothing at all sounds like a BDA, but it's not cheap power.
Reading the advert, he's a hillclimber.
If it's the engine which I think it might be, it used to live in the back of a Ralt.
That's the thing about hillclimbers, they really aren't scared of spending big money and going to an awfull lot of trouble for very little
competitive motorsport.
