fiesta outer cv joint

I am trying to remove the outer ns cv joint on my fiesta. Everything is off but I cannot remove it from the driveshaft. If anyone has done this please advise.

if it is the same as the sierra, then you need to prise open the metal cup [housing] on the hub side. It can be replaced by piening over with a hammer

IIRC you take off the rubber boot and there is a spring clip (hidden in the goo) which you need to compress then pull out the shaft.

Yep - dig through the goo and you'll find a circlip. You'll need 3 hands because you need to release this circlip whilst pulling on the CV joint and eventually it'll all fall apart. To reassemble, just slide the driveshaft back in until you hear the click of the circlip going back into the groove.

Ed.
