Tragically ,unluckily killed during F2 race at Brands Hatch, that's really sad for the John and the family.

I can't believe that wheel teathers have been in place in F1 since Senna's accident but haven't been put in place in the lower formulas.

I know it's about cost, but I'm sure they will be in place next season. Just a shame it takes a fatal accident to push the safety improvements through

unfortunately wheels still come loose in F!, luckily theres not been any problems, but it really was a very very unlucky freak accident. terrrible news

Of course the F2 series is brand new and is run by MSV, which is headed by Jonathan Palmer who's son is in the series. I would assume that these cars have wheel restraints of some description given how new the cars are.

its about time they fitted proper cages to all these cars, people heads should not be sticking out.

Very sad news. 2 Young drivers gone in the last month or so.

The F2s do have tethers (or are meant to), we run them in F3 too because of FIA rules.

Something obviously went wrong or there is a design flaw because I have seen bigger crashes where the wheels have stayed tethered and there has been 3 accidents where the wheels have seperated from the car this season in F2.
