I have had a guy from France show some interest and the following is the latest emails:

last thing he wants to do is drive over from france to buy a sierra
and wanting your bank details to pay for the car at a guess, and its a laguage barrier problem making it sound sus.
however i would want cash and go to your bank with him to pay it in.

Looks as dodgy as can be to me!! Why on earth does he need the name of your bank?? I wouldnt be happy giving those details myself.
Have you almost done the deal in terms of sending loads of photos and agreeing price?
I would prefer a buyer to meet in person. Nothing wrong with paying for car before arriving i suppose but i wouldnt be sending pics of V5. Surely all
a buyer needs to know is that the car is correctly reg'd in UK and how many owners. Maybe also you to confirm chassis and engine numbers are
correct. Maybe he wants to HPi the car. Sending a copy of V5 sounds a bit suss to me unless they can confirm why they want it.
At some stage you will need to supply bank details for the transfer and the only good they will do the buyer will be to transfer money to you (unless
iam too naive and missing something).
I have been advised you need to request transfer in GBP to minimise charges.
If he wants to buy... he needs to pay, so he needs the bank-details. As long as he doesn't ask for your creditnumbers and personalnumber there
is no problem.
In this case:
I would also a copy of the V5c and the approval certificate. Without a decent registration the vehicle is hard to register abroad.
He has seen the ad on pictonheads, I have sent a few additional photos via email.
The suggested a price (in Euro) to be paid by bank transfer and I agreed it would be acceptable.
The bit that gets me is there has been no discussion on deposit or more importantly how or when he would like to collect the car!
I have replied with:

If he isnt totally serious that reply should test him!
I think there is a rule in France about registering kit cars with specific VIN numbers.
My mate was trying to sell an early Caterham, and he got loads of interest from France because the VIN started with some specific letters / numbers.
Without those numbers it couldn't be registered in France.

It's almost impossible to register a kit car in France, unless it is very old, when it goes into a different class. A manufacturers certificate
if conformity is required before anytghing else.
The details requested are the standard requirements to transfer money. But surely he would arrive with cash to buy.
smells very fishy to me. You'd feel very daft if you got conned after wondering if it was a con!

As predicted... No word from Bruno since I asked why he wanted that info.
Shame really, the bank have given the me info he requested and assure me it is safe to give him!
