Bloody Rip Off

I have a Revotec speedo that uses a magnetic proximity switch and magnets on the prop for it to work. This switch has broke so went to Revotec to buy a new one. They wanted £48

I then noticed that the broken item had a different part number than the item on Revotec website so spent a few minutes with Mr Google and found the exact same item here for £14 delivered.

I know that companies need to make a profit but 400% is taking the wee

So for those people employing the same method with thier speedo don't just buy the sensor from the speedo manufacturer.

Rant over....I feel all calm now I've got that off me chest

Spare part margins are in multiples not percentages. Its not right but it isn't surprising.

Following a slight misshap I needed a new speedo sensor from another dash manufacturer. The part was £16.00 inc vat but they only send by UPS which added another £13.80 to the bill!!

I think basically the sensor is an "Hall Effect" sensor. I got mine from the scrap yard from an Astra for 50p. Barry
