has anyone got a single seater through iva yet? and what are potential problems with doing so. ground clearence looks like one to me as they all seem so low!
obviously lots of sharp edges to cover and stuff like that,but what else?

It'll need all the lights and wheel arches as usual, otherwise not too much I'd think. Just having one seat won't make any real difference. If anything it means there's less to test! Although I might take the wings off for the test.

Why would you want to iva it? Do you want to drive it on the public road.

If for competition it will be MSA scrutineered.

was thinking of a project which i would want to use on public roads and also the odd track day or hill event. i just like things which are different and thought a car similar to this would be interesting! i know roadrunner have had some sprint r's sva'd so i suppose its possible

Consider the fuel tank which now has to be of correct standard if platic, but more importantly needs not to be damaged in the case of a crash, with sharp objects arou d it. That's the only specific iva chnage that I can see causing issues other than the sva would have caused.

Having done just that with the original Furore, it's not a course of action I would recommend. Formula Ford etc is designed to run with aroun 1" ground clearance, & personally I wouldn't run with less than 4-5" for road use, getting mine up to that was a nightmare & one of the reasons i finished up with 18" wheels. If you really want a single seater on the road why not a Roadrunner Sprint, or better still get a production Furore F1 & have the option of removing the airbox, putting a mate in the back seat & scaring them to death - much more fun
