Cool!

Affordable motor racing. Amazing.
Could you build one for £250 ?
these tracks are quite easy to make
using mdf for a base
then draw out your groove
use a router with a slot cutter
then use foil tape (the kind used for alarms on windows) there are other types - for the contacts
you can send the car anywhere you want
i made a track years back if you do it right you can have some wild drifts - the scalextric cars fall off usually because the track is too narrow -
widening the track letting the rear end slide out stops it just about (unless you come in too hot)
use blackboard paint for the track surface - after a while the tyres start leaving rubber on the track too looks kinda cool
i have a pc program some where that controls the racing
there are also some systems now which use cars on the same track! using the old hornby theory with a chip in the car as in the Zero 1 system they had.
so you can have 2 cars same track - 2 different speeds
or there is this -
