Do we have any sparks/systems engineers in the house?

I need a 30A+ dual pole contactor (with a 230-240V coil)... dont fancy paying £80-£150 for a new one...

Does anyone have access to any old equipment etc and would be able to throw me one for some beer money?

(I want to use it to switch on and off an immersion type coil heater)

"I want to use it to switch on and off an immersion type coil heater"

Yes, just before the STILL goes bang!

STILL?

Its an inteligent heater with soft start on it.. I just need to be able to switch off the power to the unit if the temperature is above 8 degrees.... The "call for heat" signal comes from elsewhere...

Is this not a very clever solution then, using a contactor?

Its a simple (ish) solution for a very comlpicated control problem... Dont you hate it when components have a mind of their own!
