i have been offered a 200cc road legal quad at a very reasonable price
my question is can i ride it on a car licence..
i passed my car test 19 years ago if that makes a difference..

PLEASE wear a helmet. I see loads of idiots round mine that don't - as you dont legally need to.
I mean fine as a one off to feel the wind in your hair, but regularly the same planks rag round waiting to have a cars side pillar rearrange their
face for them.
They are shocking on the road, I had a yzf 450 with a few trick bits on - really quick off road loads of fun - scared me to death on the road thanks
to no rear diff, they have a habit of not going round bends well.
Another vote for helmets as well even if just an MotoX helmet
Road legal quads appear to combine all the worst disadvantages of cars and bikes with virtualy none of the advantages of either.
No weather protection.
They don't handle well.
They aren't that fast (though fast enough for the handling deficiencies to be a problem). Not including the ones with big bike engines!
You can't filter through traffic.
Very vulnerable to cars, more so than a bike.
Unless you are a farmer getting to or from a field via a public road I just don't understand the point?
