beginner CAD question
blakep82 - 24/8/09 at 11:38 AM

whats the easiest to use, free, not trial version, simple 3D CAD software, which can save to the most useful formats?

don't ask for much do i?

i want to design some stuff to have made, but don't know anything about CAD, so really need something which i can be using pretty much straight away

Solidworks or autocad 3D Both are free (like all software) if you know where to look.

You can normally get them on bitorrent, or any of the subscription download sites.

Or if you want a really free CAD package try CADstd or the package that comes with Emachineshop....

If you want a really free, proper CAD drawing package that is an AutoCAD clone (like most are) then SolidEdge give away their 2D part for nothing.

It really is a good package.
