Jst heard on Radio 1, so why, when oil is less than half its peak price last year, do we have fuel prices in excess of what they said was needed to
cover crude prices back then.....

if i get this job at bp i get 1p/litre off!
As long as BP aren't 2p more than anyone else you're ok..

This extra 2p is to dig the Government out of the hole its dug itself - more tax!
Please can we get rid of this government now
LPG still 45p a litre

Fuel prices aren't about covering the cost of fuel. They serve two purposes, they raise money for the gov. If we don't have it on fuel
we'll have to have it somewhere else - fancy a rise on income tax? At least with fuel prices you can investigate other options to get round it -
more efficient car / moving closer to work.
The other side of the increase is the 'green' effect. Its believed to be a very effective way of getting people to change their ways / be
more 'green'.
Now here's something i've learnt recently - supermarket fuel has no addatives in, all branded stations do (don't ask how i learnt
this). Whats surprised me is i think i'm getting more to the gallon with branded fuel than supermarkets. Now i can't be 100% certain as i
haven't run back to back tests, especially on long runs & i've had my EGR valve replaced but ........ when i first got my car, crusing
at 70 to 75 mph (which means real speed is 65 to 70mph as confirmed by sat nav) i used to get 52.5mpg. Filling up with BP and doing 250 miles I got
61mpg.
from now on i'll be filling up with BP unless its markedly more expensive than the asda supermarket next door (most of hte time its the same).
what enough 2p,

and as off the increase in mpg, i use morrsions petrol station as it is on the way to work, or when i go jetskiing. and branded stores are in town.
might just stay using the same petrol station.
i think i will be doing some maths at lest for the traveling to work car.
