In my garage I have the following:
ULTIMA SPYDER
Chassis and Bodywork
RADICAL SR3
Rolling Chassis and Bodywork
LOTUS EUROPA
Complete, but not registered.
ENGINES
Supercharged Blackbird
RS4 V8
That's £30k minimum to replace!
Is there a 'one-stop' insurance policy type that will provide cover for ALL the above, or do I need to insure each car separately and just
chain the engines down???
Where do you live again
Scotland!

I believe its Alba Scotia Caledonia. Now where abouts, i've got this great way to lower your premiums before you take out the policy. Oh, when will you be out?

I remeber asking my House insurance and having an arguement of
When does a Pile of Metal Fiber Glass and Engine become a Car ..... SO if you think a Part built kit is covered under house insurance then possibly
think again..
I tried to argue that untill it is SVA'd then it is not a car but a pile of "Car Shaped" components. needless to say I gave up in
the end - Thank full there was never a claim.
What is the definition of a car?
I'd guess something with wheels that has the ability to move under its own power, stop and steer - hence race cars would be cars despite never
having SVA / IVA / MOT.
Note by that definition "has the ability" and "can" are two different things........... which means I need to look into garage
insurance
Have you ever heard of Mr Whippy's secure storage facility & security service?
Where for a decent weekly wage, I personally will guard with my life (up to the point where such life is threatened) your precious items in my own
brick and wood secure store room.
With the condition that I get to use the Lotus now and again to go for little joy rides, (while the part time security guards – the dogs, mind the
place for me). Plus I get to tinker with the other cars, while redistributing their components onto my projects all at your expense.
How can you say no to that offer I ask you?
Adrian flux do build cover. My part built, parts and tools are covered. Cost £75 a year I think and I live in one of the worst postcodes in Liverpool. Maybe they will cover all your stuff under one policy?

So those kids down my streetwith rollerskates are cars![]()
or motorised ones which I believe are very illegal on anywhere other than private land due to the lack of MOT, tax and insurance.
See, that's the the problem... do I separately insure 2 'part-builds' (each with one of the engines) and a SORN'd car?
I'm guessing that's not going to be cheap!
But then again - the thought of people walking off with bits and me losing out all the time is not a nice one. Wait a minute...that's
what's been happening on the 'For Sale' section here for years!

you could always send the V8 to live in my garage to spread the risk...
...but I can't promise it won't find a home in the scimitar

but seriously I've got a build up policy with flux for about half that value (and a similar post code obviously
) its £157 a year now
(I'll need to find something cheaper next time)
