Benzine - 10/9/09 at 11:16 PM

Obligatory new dad thread! ^_^

On sunday the 6th my awesome girlfriend gave birth to Innes at paisley in Scotland. He was 8lbs 1oz. His hobbies include feeding, sleeping and making a mess

I'll have a garage assistant soon when he's grown a little bit more!

hehe yeah :p Beanie laboured for 12 hours in a 1972 Bedford TK (homebirth planned) but had to go into paisley as a blood test result showed low platelette (sp?) levels so she needed to go into hospital as a precaution. She only spent 2 hours 45 mins in hospital so got to do most of the labour in the motorhome

ReMan - 10/9/09 at 11:24 PM

Congratulations and good health to all

Benzine - 10/9/09 at 11:27 PM

Hang on, it's half midnight and there have been a load of replies already... I've got a newborn keeping me and my girlfriend up...

Congratulations to you all. And what an excellent place to have a baby!! In a motorhome!!!

russbost - 11/9/09 at 06:41 AM

Congrats - remember that incredible feeling only too well & my eldest is 19 now!
If you train him properly he'll be able to get his hand into all those really difficult places you can't quite reach when working on the car!

iank - 11/9/09 at 06:43 AM

Well done to all.

They only hobby they add before leaving home is throwing tantrums.

MikeR - 11/9/09 at 06:57 AM

i thought they also learnt how to demand money instead of just having it spent on them.

Congratulations and good luck for the next 20 odd years

t16turbotone - 11/9/09 at 06:59 AM

scudderfish - 11/9/09 at 07:11 AM

You need to go easy on the head sniffing though, it's quite addictive.

jabbahutt - 11/9/09 at 07:17 AM

Fantastic news, congratulations to you both and welcome to the world little fella.

afj - 11/9/09 at 07:18 AM

well done dude

iank - 11/9/09 at 07:20 AM

Might just be the light/camera but he looks a touch jaundiced.

If he goes more yellow rather than less (my kids both went to post-it note colour) then he may need to spend some time on the UV cot's (like this).

flak monkey - 11/9/09 at 07:20 AM

Congratulations

altough it will be some years before your garage assistant will be any good, does this mean your build will be on hold as well?

All the best to the little one

Hi Ian, yes he is a tiny bit, apparently day 3 & 4 are the most common for jaundice, we have a midwife come round everyday and she was happy with it, she said to make sure he gets some sunshine. Weirdly enough, for the first time in weeks it's actually sunny up here in scotland Thanks for the concern/info

franky - 11/9/09 at 08:35 AM

Agriv8 - 11/9/09 at 08:45 AM

Guinness - 11/9/09 at 02:20 PM

And don't forget that the Gov't will give you a "Ron" to put in a Child Trust Fund, so that on their 18th Birthday they too can afford to "Build a Sportscar for £250 and Race It"

God bless the Gov't for thinking specifically about the future of Locostbuilders!
