Just read it too, unfortunately i dont think its the real lotus, i think its another race team that have bought the rights to race under "lotus" but i might be mistaken

sorry, but a team based in Malaysia, owned partly by the Malaysian government and the rest by Malaysian entepreneurs ain't Lotus except for the
badge on the nose.....
Although they could have disastrous luck with engines (thinking Lotus twink then Rover Kettle series here) so maybe they'll inherit some of the
attributes...

Let's face it... they're not really Lotus (other than the name) and they're gonna suck!
Even 3 months ago the likes of Mike Gascoyne were saying it was getting too late for the new teams to get a car done in time.
How can this team possibly manage it in time?
USF1 were one of the early successful applicants and already it's been suggested they're not going to be ready in time for March.
Mclaren and Ferrari managed to not get their cars done in time this season**... and they have about £800m to spend between them!

I think i dated a girl who worked for the race team, she still does F2 tyre work for them at the weekend and her holidays are taken up going to the F2
series in spain.
Still - i'll be watching the coverage carefully to see her. Just must remember not to shout "i dated her" when watching the F1 with the
new g/f
Well I for one welcome the Lotus name back to F1....Even if it is a reincarnation of the original and not the fully leaded derivitive!
I don't really count the efforts of Lotus in the 90's as the Original and it was painful to see them struggle into oblivion in 94. In the
same way I hate seeing Williams struggle now.
I wish them well and good hunting.
