JoelP - 18/9/09 at 08:23 PM

me and the missus want to go away tomorrow for a night somewhere in yorkshire, a hotel or lodge somewhere. Anyone got any recommendations? Anywhere rural is good!

the george in easingwold just outside of york is nice and the car will be safe in there yard! I took my other half for the weekend an it was very relaxed!

Pickering, totally rural, unchanged with some really nice hotels and the steam railway that takes you down to Whitby for the ultimate fish and chips and then back along to Aidensfield aka Hearbeat..

Yeah i'd vote for Pickering too, really nice little place, if you come back through Helmsley/Thirsk you can stop off at the White Horse and have a walk roun the top of sutton bank which is quite plesant, originally i am from Thrisk, spent many a night up there in the moonlight

White City in Maltby, a little bit like Beirut without the need to fly.

Did the DAles and the lakes 3 weeks ago, brilliant roads

Anywhere in Yorkshire is normally nice! But I'd have to say 'Hawes' in the middle of nowhere. Great roads too!
