Just playing fantasy garage on the internet after having been to the Yorkshire Big Breakfast meet this morning. Some absolutely stunning cars
there!
Anywho, I've just punched my details into directline and one or two other insurers looking to find out a rough cost for insurance on a vx220 or
lotus - I don't own one and I couldn't afford to buy one right now but I'm just killing time....
I'm 23 (24 in january), 6 years NCB, no points no convictions, YO26 york postcode (quite good postcode as far as I'm aware), and as it
happens completely un-insurable!
"Unable to quote at this time" is the answer from most of them. I ride a suzuki sv1000 which is capable of over 160mph and I'm fully
comp on that for £350 a year with 2 years ncb, yet it would be more of a risk for me to jump in a car with a power to weight ratio of around
150-160bhp....
are there any insurers out there who understand this kind of situation?
Thanks in advance P!
You would have to talk to one of the specialist insureres.... I have my TVR with MSM... and im only 21 ...2 years NCB
When I was 21 I managed to get a quote for a brand new Bentley (£21,000) and a Reliant Scimitar (£3000)
Seems anyone will insure me on anything, for the right price.
Did you use one of them comparison sites? Cos they're pants for anything slightly off the norm
I had my Impreza Turbo Uk car insured through Bell.co.uk when i was 23, I paid 700ish TPF&T.
ah cheers guys,
I refuse to use comparison websites based on the fact that ALL their adverts are so annoying and incredibly ghey...
I'm curious enough to find out what a rough insurance cost would be but not so to the point where I'd actually ring adrian flux etc. and
speak to someone about it.
I should probably really be in the garage instead of arsing about on here but hey ho.
Hmmm... vx220....
cheers craigJ
bell just quoted me
Your quote:
£684.80
not too bad that
Bell were always the cheapest for me on all my jap stuff, Impreza, 200sx, Prelude 2.2, MR2's, GT4, FTO etc.

after changing flats and moving a mile down the road she was asked for another +£500 by Admiral, her ex insurers that was on
top of another £100 for moving fronm York to Newcastle. Thats less than I'm paying on my panda (I was 21 with a years NCB at the start of the policy).
I would've thought your best bet for something like that would be to visit a brookers office.
