I have bought one of these small tipping trailers but when it is tilted fully it doesnt have any type of locking devise to keep it up. Have looked and have found the props for the rear of the trailers but nothing to hold the front up. Any idea's guys and girls?

The weight of the contents is supposed to do it.

Wonder if something like a small bottle jack could be modified in some way to jack up the back.

Seems strange that it doesn't have some method of tilting though as standard.

How about a post with a winch on the top welded to the towing part of the trailer then the cable attached to the body

Some kind of big ram like on engine cranes - got a similar thing here fitted to a lifting arm on a pivot - imagine the kind of thing they use for lowering invalids into swimming pools, has remote jack with long length of hydraulic pipe so could be controlled from behind trailer etc

Bought it with the intention of fastening on to trailer draw bar to load engines in when there's no engine crane about but like many great projects it is still sitting there.
Doesn't stand us at lots of cash but heavy to post and we are in Cumbria but could produce a substantial solution to your problem, I'd send pics but it is blowing a gale out there tonight

How about a caravan type jockey wheel jack fitted to the trailer top bar, wheel removed and the y joke pinned to the draw bar, you could then wind the trailer up and when done wind it down to lock it.

Are you just planning on tipping your kart off or are you trying to tilt it enough to drive it on
Personally, I would avoid using the tilty function on that type of trailer. The pin not going back in properly or being forgotten altogether would be too big a risk for me. Just get someone to give you a hand to lift the kart on and off without tilting

If you can tip it yourself id put one of the props for the rear on the front.

The you can tilt it with that thus saving your back!

For a cheaper version of those 'Side Winder' jacks, go to an autojumble as most old cars used them as the standard change-a-wheel jack!

Scissor jack just in front of the pivot point with a long Handel to the front
