time to put the feelers out
omega0684 - 20/11/09 at 01:14 AM

right guys,

most of you will probably have seen my post yesterday about being hit by another motorist and pending an insurance assessor coming out and telling me the car is going to be a right off, im putting the feelers out for a new motor.

no massive preference on car but it must be diesel & medium sized, (focus, astra golf etc) would considered dropping down in size for something with a little attitude like a fabia VRS (or similar)

Budget is £7500 MAX, but ideally don't want to go above £7k.

SPREAD THE WORD GUYS AND GALS! IF YOU SPOT SOMETHING LET ME KNOW!

All the Best

Alex

EDITED: After Blakes Hilarious Link preferably as low a milage as possible! (under 50k)

Iv been awake a while

How about a Jag X-type? Not my favourite car in the world but the deisel engine is actually pretty good and it falls well within your budget.

ETA - Theres 58 here. One of themn should be low miles

7k! you shouldn't have any trouble getting what you want for that - its 3 times what I spent on the last tin-top and 9 times more than I've ever spent on any other car
(the dax doesn't count, its not a car yet )

NS Dev - 20/11/09 at 08:46 AM

my '96 diesel shogun was only 1/7th of that budget!

The world is your oyster, and for that money I would not be buying a diesel, I'd get a petrol, which will be a grand or two cheaper, then get a decent lpg kit put on it...............

Here is something with an Attitude for a lot less than 7k

I bought a 130ps 2.0 TDCI mondeo for similar money, with 26k miles.

It goes well, and is very comfortable. I havent had any problems with it in the 18 months ive had it, and its now approaching 70k miles.

Highly recommended.

That Dax is just a money pit........ by the time you set foot in it you will hate taking it anywhere it gets dirty

I practice bangernomics at the moment 150 max for 2 years motoring in the renault
and the same for the pug.

mcerd1 - 20/11/09 at 01:10 PM

Alex, would I be right in thinking that you just want a car thats going to give you the minimum of hassle ? (and being fun to drive is a bonus)

that pug was the second cheapest car I've ever owned...

the mk1 fiesta was much cheaper (free) its 30 years old now and its still on the road and still going up in value
I wish it was still mine
