A little tintop advice needed please chaps.
Range rover classic fitted with V8 and manual gearbox, the problem I have is the gear change has become ‘easy’ as in the gearstick is easier to move
but isn’t loose. I got in it the other day and thought it felt funny but couldn’t put my finger on it but now I am convinced the gear change has
changed. Ive owned the car for over 4 years and I haven’t recently driven it hard or gone off-road.
It doesn’t pop out of gear when I back off, but it only takes the slightest of effort to slip it into neutral. Its almost like it’s become a brand new
car and the synchromesh on all gears are silky smooth when putting it into any gear.
Should I be worried?
Have you joined a gym recently?
I love British stuff, too right that it must surely be going wrong

It'll be an oil leak lubricating the mechanism
Revel in the moment.
My drive does look like an oil tanker has hit the rocks and split its load. But this is down to the wind and me leaving it to drain for an hour!
The only thing i can find on the net is worn syncros can make it pop out of gear, but for all of them to do it at the same time is unreal so it must
be me and my dead lifting in the gym
Two possibilities
Easy & Cheap
(1) The springs that operated the detent balls/plungers have lost tension.
More expensivel
(2) Shychro hubs worn.
You should also check the 4 rubber bushes that join the remote to the main gearbox - when they wear, you get all sorts of play
