What would be the emission limits for an imported Mitsubishi FTO, 2.0 V6 ?
DVLA has it logged as first used 31/12/95 and first registered 8/4/02.
Place I took it to says <0.2 but it's owner (not me) is disputing and also claims it's
exempt from cat test. Tested at 0.6.
Can't ask my MOT man as it's Sunday and he's away for the next few days.
I think almost everything after 1993 needs a cat, so would also have a cat test.
Steve
First used or registered after August 1995, then its subject to a CAT test
there is an exemption for imported cars built after the introduction of cats but not designed to pass the cat tests, check v5.
You're out of luck. I used to have an FTO on an M plate, and got away with <3.5. Since yours is late 1995 and therefore N plate, no dice.
See details on my website that I did years ago but are still valid I assume: -

same as above. My brother had a fto and had to keep the cat in. It was on a p if i recall correctly. If had a full stainless system with a cat bypass included. He just swapped the two every time. It made a noise difference but not that much else. Keep the cat in and save the world!
anything after k plate needs a cat....
however.....if the mot tester hasnt done the test within the 45mins then he cant fail it......keep the tester talking....for 45 mins!!!!
or find a 'nice' mot tester
