Dummy Wii questions...
McLannahan - 17/12/09 at 10:20 PM

I've just acquired a rather nice Wii! - Many thanks to Carpmart (Harvey) for it all, I can't wait to set it all up!

I'd like to play others with the Wii and wondered if I would need a second controller and joystick that plugs into it or just a secondary controller?

Does anyone know what the Motion Plus thing is and do I need one?

Lastly - Do the controllers eat batteries or are they quite conservative in their use?

Thanks all!

Michael

motion plus only is any use for games that are designed for it. It gives much more precise sensing of your movement via a gyroscope.

yes, controllers use quite a bit of battery, worth gettin some rechargeables, and yeah, if you can get motion+ its worth it, much better, most games released recently use it and its much better, tiger woods golf for example is really good but without motion+ it would be a bit lame.

Thanks chaps!

Do I need a joystick as well as the controller or could I cope with just another controller for dual playing?

get another nunchuck cos lots of games will require a remote plus nunchuck per player. I have the motion plus too and the new sports resort game that uses it - awesome! My fave is the sword fighting. I am a real samurai warrior.

Raving Rabbids TV Party...yay!

Guitar Hero Complete Band in a Box...double yay!

go on...you know you want to...

You want ideally both mate. Alot of games use the nunchuck. I love my wii.

Get a charging dock for your remotes but dont leave them in it all the time as it will nacker the batteries in the end. Mine eats batteries like anything especially if i put cheapies in. Rechargables seem to last longer

And if you connect it to the internet you can use it to watch stuff from iplayer on your tv.
