Interesting and awe inspiring if you like that kind of thing.

IC 1795, they ran out of proper names many years ago.

Picture 7 looks like a load of ginger cats having a fight and picture 10 is very clearly a gigantic celestial head.

Confused but excited. - 24/12/09 at 05:29 PM

Totally awesome!
Image 15 either looks like the aftermath of a very big bang or God has a LOT of washing-up liquid.

Some excellent photos there. Very interesting as well.

You can get huge resolution versions on the Nasa site of most of them.

There HAS to be life out there... well, if it is expanding into infinity, then there has to be an infinite number of possibilities... or does it not work like that?

Ooowww... my head hurts!

Stunning pics, love that sort of thing

Life out there? Maybe there was, or will be. Maybe we're the first and have to seed the galaxy. I'm a fan of panspermia - we came from the sky.

Have to remember that universe is 13.7 billion years old, so it's quite possible that many millions of civilisations have been and gone - remember, we've only been able to send radio signals for just over a century!
