Not full eclipse, but still cool.

Tonight is a full moon, the second full moon this month.

I think that it is known as a blue moon, hence the saying "once in a blue moon" as it doesn't happen very often.


Another useless bit of twaddle I've come up with.

I thought blue moon had something to do with the new moon..

without googling, blue moon is when you get 2 full moons in a calendar moth.

lunar cyle is 28 days, month can be 28 to 31 days so doing the sums, I think this can happen 2 or 3 times a year.

googling will be more precise.

Yep, lunar eclipse indeed, looked out the door and nice full moon, stars etc.... 30 minutes later looked out the door, no moon, no stars just white things falling down, actually hard white things coming straight down and bouncing off the ground

i noticed that! it was a full moon this morning, but last night it had a huge chunk missing out of it
