Hi All
Has anyone bought tyres off this website?
http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html
The prices seem good just wondering if their services is ok
Thanks
Adrian
I ordered a set of Toyo Proxes for my road car and they came as promised with a pair of lefts and a pair of rights (was worried they might cock that
part up). Their support line was helpful too when it said there might be a delay due to availability.
Recommended.
Thanks Mackie
How do you like those tires, Mackie? Would you use them on a Locost?
Pete
I used to use them on my XR2 before I found a cheap supplier of Yoko A520s. They're almost as grippy as the Yokos once you learn to trust them
but last a lot longer.
Chris
So far I'm pretty impressed.
As chris says they are well grippy once you start trusting them, although my Puma has plenty of feel anyway. They are pretty damn good in the wet too.
Oh and cheap, it cost me £160 all in (inc fitting at one of their approved fitters) for 4x 195/50R15s
As for using them on a locost I don't really know, I know Jasper has (well had anyway) a set on his locost and they certainly gripped like a
bastard round donington.
Prices here are much higher because Toyos aren't in wide distribution, but it looks like a great tire for my size (195/60-15). Saw some reviews
that said that the sidewalls could be a bit less flexy, confirming Chris' experience. Looks like a good choice for a road car.
Thanks, guys

have used mytyres twice now, for certain tyres they can be quite cheap (got yoko A539's for my fiat 175/50/r13 - £40 each or so) and delivery is
prompt. but my dad found when he was looking that sometimes certain tyres were as cheap at local tyre fitters. it's just a bugger trying to find
somewhere round here to fit them for less than a tenner each...
they do have ratings & reviews for most tyres tho
Local tyre fitters will usually do a deal if you buy 4 tyres. I phoned round and got 30% off a set of 165/65x13 Vredesteins for the Clio. The same tyres on mytyres are £9 each dearer
Also, tell them if you're starting with bare wheels - they have to pay to get rid of old tyres these days, so they may offer you a further
discount.
David
I suspect if they don't have to remove the wheels from the vehicle they be more partial to doing deals too - that's what takes half the
time.

..and make sure you go 'round the back' and speak to someone rather than into the office. The chap at my local Kwik Fit does a set of four
for £20 as long as I take them down off the car so it's a bit less obvious what's going on
Chris
I did ask round local fitters but the response was usually "A Toyo what now?!"
