Had several of these over the past few weeks for lunch.

This is a great sandwich

Waitrose. You must be earning too much, says he who's wife bought M&S sarnies from the Motorway services.

THIS IS A SANDWICH THREAD ***NOT*** A MARMITE THREAD!

IF YOU CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE HARMFUL MARMITE WORD SEVERE ACTION WILL BE TAKEN.

I'll take that as a 'no' then shall I? ....

Talking of sandwiches.....apart from the Waitrose Pastrami .....

Went to M&S last week and got (sandwiches) Tiger Prawn with smoked salmon, and Turkey, stuffing and cranberry ....yummy!!
It was like having an early crimbo dinner in a couple of sarnies ....

I don't think so - but I don't like to compromise on lunch

You are what you eat says Gillian McKeith - which is a bit scary as long as you don't eat whatever she eats!!

Call me a simpleton, but a sandwich should be a simple affair, none of this fancy guff in hi fashion euro breads.

Hand sliced white bloomer
Mature Cheddar cheese
Branston pickle (NOT sandwich grade)
Hand sliced white bloomer

Personally I don't even like butter/marge in mine

That's a sandwich!

interestedparty - 15/12/10 at 04:30 PM

Cathedral mature cheddar
Some (ideally home-cooked) ham
Little bit of Heinz sandwich spread
Warburton's Seeded Batch

What more could you want?

coozer - 15/12/10 at 04:45 PM

Too much money Mooky!

For that I would make enough corned beef and onion sammys to feed Africa!

RazMan - 15/12/10 at 05:16 PM

Crunchy Peanut Butter & Marmite - bootiful

oops, I said the M word

BigFaceDave - 15/12/10 at 05:19 PM

Fish finger and mayonaise is the best! and occasionally only put the mayo on one slice and ketchup on the other, yum!

mads - 15/12/10 at 06:28 PM

three best sandwiches for me are...

Fish finger sandwich - thick white bread or roll, margarine, cod fish fingers, bit of ketchup or mayonnaise!

Salad toasted sandwich - lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheese between two slices of toast

Crisp sandwich - two thick slices of white bread, margarine, filled with McCoys (or other thick sliced) crisps

I like fish finger sandwiches as well, the trick is to get the fish fingers really hot, while the bread remains at room temperature. V nice.

LBMEFM - 15/12/10 at 08:09 PM

Personally I love Marmite

bimbleuk - 16/12/10 at 11:06 AM

Another fan of fish finger sandwiches but I'm having trouble getting my 95 year old gramp to try them. He's a bit stuck in his ways!

Today I have ox tongue with sweet chilli sauce. yummy.

martyn_16v - 16/12/10 at 02:46 PM

You're all wrong. The answer is bacon.

Honestly, what kind of freaks are you lot?

kipper - 16/12/10 at 03:30 PM

Well I have to say beef dripping for me, but you don't seem to get the same as when I was a little lad.
We used to let the juice from the sunday roast set in a shallow dish then spread on mothers home made bread. It was a Sunday night treat for us.
Plus of course MMMMMMMMMMARMITE.
I have made myself hungry writing this.
Regards Denis.

Just had a Calamari (fried), cream cheese and mayo with touch of salt, pepper and lemon juice on low GI whole wheat bread - Yum

Wish I had more calamari for another one

iank - 16/12/10 at 08:05 PM

Very fresh French baguette, Roquefort thickly spread. Job done

Though a fish finger sandwich also has it's place.

Ninehigh - 16/12/10 at 08:42 PM

I think that last click has sent me to "Middle class IT builders"

Hummus? Brie? Calamari? WAITROSE?

What happened to Bread with Something in it?

You all gonna go to starbucks too for a frapacapamaccafrochachino?

I'll get me coat, must be here somewhere under all these River Island jackets!

lotusmadandy - 17/12/10 at 08:47 AM
