Completely un car related, but i know theres a few modellers on here. Who can succesfully prop hang a proper rc plane continuously? Ive been
practising for ages and i can get it into the prop hang no prob, but darent do it any lower than about 20ft as it just falls out uncontrollably
without being able to pull it back in. All the ones ive watched at shows just seem to sit there quite happily, while, although im sure they are
fantastic pilots, there must be a trick in the set up, as i am quite a good flyer, but it just isnt coming to me after years of practising. I can
hover helis no prob etc, so im sure its not purely down to me. Any Tips?? I think it must be all in the C of G, but i dont know how much to
adjust.

Ive seen "pros" cheat by using a gyro they can switch on and off. Ive done it a few times on various planes but never really noticed a knack to it, each plane seems to be different.
I had flown on and mostly off for a while now.
Would only consider my self as an advanced novice
I also thought of having a go at prop hanging.
So after getting the hang of it on a Sim.
I made one of these. Free plan from here
Not the best plane for the job but at so cheap to make it does not hurt if it brakes.

Often thought of getting one of those but i really dont have the time to put one together at the mo, i know they build in a day or two, but every spare minute goes into the car now! I have a magic fun fly which is more than capable, it just feels like it wants to fall out more than stay in. Its when you see them take there hands off and catch it that makes me wonder, cause i seem to have to fight it all the time, no way would i even try it that close let alone be able to take my hands off for a second. Could be gyros, but i dont think theyd use them in competitions?
nice to see a hype all the way up in selby, i live 10-15mins away from weston uk. steve hummel who designs the weston planes taught me to fly. the best way to master prop hanging is on a depron model as they are a bit more docile. do you have a simulator for the computer, i mastered prop hanging on the sim before i tried for real
Ye, i have reflex xtr. I got it to try prop hanging, but could do it straight away, so hardly ever use it. My mate who i fly with has just got a magic now too, so i dont want him to master it before me
here is steve messing around the other week with a biplane. physics say you shouldnt be able to prop hang it but steve is just a little bit talented,
look at the amount of control surfaces he is moving to keep it in check

Yep, thats pretty impressive. Now youve got me searching ebay for depron model!
Some guys are very good: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=cb6_1183714580
No good with planes, but I can cut the grass with my Raptor 90 Heli! Does that count!

Cutting grass with a heli
Peh.
Just see the hole's in the ground I made
The small foamy's can easily have very high thrust to weight.
It's makes getting out of troulble easier.
Fitted with rudders I even think my F22 foamy would prop (hang) push.
I has such a low wing loading landing's are just fly low, then flare at 6" and when it stops ,it then lands like a VTOL.
RC foamie
here is a Video of the foamy. Give you a idea of it's climb rate 3 with a brushless Motor and ESC fo < £20.
