Phone repair,with saved passwords?
StrikerChris - 4/1/11 at 11:53 PM

Following the drowning of my htc desire, found someone who'll look at it and give no charge before i pay, trying 2nd hand parts.now i've turned it on it again it says i have new email.(hotmail account.) which i saved on the phone, but as i cant unlock the screen i cant sign out.Without the sim,and should someone be able to fix the phone can they access any passwords i might have used and not signed out of on my phone.dont think i've been lucky enough to take any dodgy pictures since i've had it,i'm more worried about emails from my bank etc which may give someone access to rape my non existant funds!

I wouldn't bet that they can't get that stuff - if you could get to it if the screen worked, they could fix the screen and off they go. isn't the phone all backed up on the SD card? if you got another phone it might be possible to transfer all your settings etc to that.

Also I understand that the desire is soon to be added to HTC sense which gives the ability to remote control your phone - which might be the answer - you could do a factory reset before it goes away to be fixed.

good luck with it

Cheers

Surely it would have signed itself out by now?

Thats my point,i cant get into the phone to do anything!i cant turn the key lock off as the touch screen doesn't work.says 1 missed call from mum, drag down to unlock,3 new emails drag down to unlock etc!i can sign out of everything on a pc,no probs.just dont know if without my sim,my phone can still effectively still be my laptop with my settings, even with memory card removed!

turn the phone off take out the memory card. turn it back on holding down the lower volume button at the same time. you then get the option to wipe it using the volume buttons buttons to select and the power button to confirm.
