Hi All in my house we have a back boiler and it is 28 years old.
The thing is it Kettles
I have put different types of cleaner though the system but it still makes a noise
What would happen if i removed the water and filled it with car anti - freeze
would it could it make it quieter ?

Have you tried the stuff like sentinal x200 noise reducer or just the normal flush stuff

Sounds like new boiler time to me
The normal cause of kettling is because the cast iron heat exchanger has lots of tiny pits in it from the casting tiny air pockets get trapped in them and its these that cause the noise when they heat up the noise reducers put a coating on the heat exchanger to stop this not sure if anti freeze would do it but what harm could it do?
What kind of system do you have. To replace the water with anti-freeze you would ned to drain off some water and top up the header tank with anti-freeze but if the system is not sealed it will evaporate and be replaced with more water via the header tank valve. If the proper stuff for the job doesn't work I don't think anti-freeze will either. Perhaps you have the boiler turned up too high ?
