is it not illegal to park on the pavement ? in my village a similar thing happened " parked within the zone of a crossing" all persons who challenged speeding tickets issued had them cancelled as the van was parked illegally. Hmmm seems like two sets of rules going on here.

If it was the case why cant a police vehicle breal the speed limit when attending any scene are they not on "official business"

Are camera vans manned by police officers ? if not then cant be on official police business only on behalf of. I thought all Police and emergency vehicles had blue lights except for some doctors who use green.

Nice one CRUSADER CAPPS.

Not always. PCSO's or civilians with similar powers often operate the vans and collect evidence - Video and speed. An officer then reviews the footage and decides whether to prosecute.

Either way, it should have blue lights on top and if on official business in that area, they should be flashing. Of course, the rules for use of blue lights specify that there must be a reason for using them.

Surely this comes under lead by example, if you want people to be helpful and respect you don't act like a t&&t

And surely they'll be able to produce the law that states speed camera vans can park wherever they like.

I'm always on Police business, I'm constantly testing whether I'll be arrested or not
