What are we like?
Noodle - 16/7/04 at 06:58 PM

I was thinking of an idea for a lesson the other day and I had an idea we could play it on this site.

Not many of us know what we look like or the sort of people we are. (We know that Ned's yellow, Pete's happy (and pretty fly) and James looks uncomfortable having his photo taken), but what about the rest of us?

Pick a poster, and describe what you think they look like, age group and what sort of personality they've got.

Don't be too mean though.

Could be interesting. Who's brave enough do dive in first?

Cheers,

Neil.

p.s. Make it interesting because I'm off down the pub in a mo and want something to read when I get back; assuming I can read when I get back

Fat 70something with a really bad attitude to the world and the people that live there.

About 3 feet 6 tall and bald.

OK I'll aim big!

Stephen Gusterson!

I'd say he is early 40s, very technical, very stubborn, mind you he's only stubborn because he's usually correctly a lot of the time anyhow! Could be intolerant to fools however.
He's quite thin and tall, maybe greying/thinning on top but well enough preserved, except for his worn out fingertips (4,300 posts will do that to ya!). Dislikes non-technical manager types at work.
He'd wear polo tops a lot. Maybe the odd shirt, but only with a check pattern. Favours jeans over trousers, perhaps even couderouys.

Hope I'm not too offensive Stephen!

I have no idea if any of this is accurate but it is the mental image I have of the man based on his posts here.

Cheers

Ali

Arf!

Staple Balls - Pinhead from Hellraiser

Jon Ison - Short-ish racing drivery type. You know, slight hint of permo-tan, keeps fit, looks good in his designer faded jeans & sponsor logo'd polo shirt, holidays in the South of France, confident, good wheel man. Doubtless total b*****ks as a description?

Hicost (If I hadn't seen what he looks like at Newark) - 5'7"-ish, late twenties, short blond hair, well paid job (he'd bloody well have to with that tarmac monster of his!), confident, intelligent, slightly crazed look in his eyes

chrisg - 18/7/04 at 10:49 AM

you're miles out height wise both Jon and James are well over six foot.

The rest of Jon's description is spot on!

Glad I got back from hols in time to defend myself

Actually, thats not too bad a guess, and I wouldnt take too much issue with it ........

But if you have read my profile on my web site it kinda gives some of this away anyways

I'd say he is early 40's = 45 actually......

very technical = job title is technical director, but thats a bit too grand... more electronics designer / product manager

very stubborn = it has been said.........

usually correctly a lot of the time anyhow! = I wish

Could be intolerant to fools however. = big time. Im the kind thats either hot or cold about things.

He's quite thin and tall, maybe greying/thinning on top but well enough preserved, = where it starts to go wrong. Im 5 ft 9, and about a stone too heavy at high 12st. Little bits of grey here or there but no signs of thinning out. I dont get my hair cut if I can still see out of it.... So far, everything still works....

his worn out fingertips (4,300 posts will do that to ya!). = they still work too..... some might say worn out right wrist.

He'd wear polo tops a lot. Maybe the odd shirt, but only with a check pattern. Favours jeans over trousers, perhaps even couderouys. = plain cheap tshirts more my thing. Wear shirt and trousers all day at work, but I dont like ties. People can tell I have a visitor coming if im wearing a tie.... Do favour jeans, and I dont wear cords..... cant even ever remember wearing them.......

Hope I'm not too offensive Stephen! = not in the least.

For my part, I cant even think of a 'victim' - met some peeps on here already, or seen their avatar pic, so it kinda corrupts the guessing......... some ive met tho havnt been anything like id expected. Certainly didnt expect PTM to be so loud and larger than life

I'll have you know I didn't sanction that photo- nor it's use on the site! You can blame meeting ChrisW in a windy car park for the state of my hair in it!

Cheeky blighter then chopped all our heads out of a group shot and added them to our profiles!

Anyway, had it so long I don't like to change it now as people would forget me!

Stephen,do you mean that all the rest is correct?
