GRR. So I'm walking back to the office, it's pissing down and a beggar goes 'how about you then mate? Feeling generous??'
'No i need to get back to the office' I said - Not that I even need to give him a reason
'Oh cheers, dickhead' he said as I walked on
WTF?! As far as I'm concerned I'm well within my rights to tell this low life scum to f*ck right off for even considering asking me for my
hard earned money, but I treat him like a human being and politely decline, to be answered with that.
He wasn't even a big issue seller or anything, I almost turned on my heels and lamped him one.
But figured it's not worth it.
Rant over!
Anyone else come across this?

I don't think you need to put the fella down any more. He's a homeless begger. Its not like anything he says really matters. Its pretty
clear his decision making skills and opinions are pretty poor
there used to be a guy in muswell hill, sat between two cash machines shouting "any spare notes?"
a guy went mental at him for it
I dont get it, I really dont... we have a fantastic welfare system in this country that pays hansomley those people who wish to sit about doing
nothing all day.
I am not willing to subsidise that payment by throwing more of my hard earned money in their direction.... Really annoys me...
beggers probably earn more a year than i do !
and that is why i do not give a penny to them, it was there choice to become beggers/homless no else's
You're going back to a warm dry office, he's out in the pissing rain, who's the dickhead.....
The sad truth is that you don't need much cash to stay in a homeless shelter (usually a couple of quid per day). Heroin and crack meanwhile are quite expensive. I used to work in a homeless shelter. 5% of the people there were there because everything had gone Pete Tong and they worked their arse off to get out of the shelter. The rest just used to see it as a cheap place to kip when not out begging or selling the Big Issue in order to fund their habit.
They do my nut in! Most usually have a house and already claim benefits... and many of them have a very long list of previous convictions!
Thankfully I don't live in my old stomping ground anymore, so I no longer know them all and feel compelled to rant at them!
I did hear a tale, probably an urban myth, about a chap with a ropey looking dog who lived in a nice house with a car, but put on a costume to beg 3
days a week to fund it. The dog obviously to get a bit more sympathy.
Would not surprise me in the slightest Joel!
I've heard that one too!
When I lived and worked down south (ish
) A fellow begging at Reading station used to take over £300 each day regularly...

A guy in Edinburgh at the base of an ATM asked me if I had any change a while back. I just replied no, sorry they're all twentys mate.
I don't do scroungers I'm afraid.
A veggie one!
A beggar once said to me "any change ?"
So I replied "No , I've still got a well paid job and a nice home"
I'll get me coat ............................

What always amazes me is how many have a bloody dog!!
If you can't afford a meal how the hell can you feed and home a mutt???
I guess it's a better 'pity' option if they have a poor little doggie
Sometimes a group of them will share a dog...

I've heard a few like this. I've also bought homeless people the odd pie or pasty etc and I outed the one that refused as a fake (what genuinely homeless down-and-out is going to refuse a pie?)

i save the vouchers on Mcdonalds coffee and give the genuine ones the free coffee, also giving them the use of a clean toilet.
Errrr, the guy is homeless.
I doubt any of us have anywhere near as many issues or problems as that guy.
I prefer pity to anger.
A lot have mental health issues, so we can't judge them as scroungers nessisarily. It's easy for us to be judgemental and allow stereotypes
to pursued us we are right to treat them as anything other than people going through a really bad time in their life.
In our neck of the woods women hire babies (a couple of maonths old) for the day to give them more appeal at the street intersections as they beg from
passing cars.
It's kind of like a creche that pays you to look after the child - hire it out to one of them instead of sending it to a
creche.
They have a dog because your entitled to an allowance for a pet and it's great for sympathy.
As for people who have never been forced on to benefits, you have no idea

That kind of thing happens all the time. Someone I went to School with was arrested for it (He was in some sort of gang that made huge money begging
in London). If you make money by begging it doesn't show up either so officially you have no income so you get unemployment benefits and
everything else on top and you can make huge money begging in london, just think how many people there are walking past you, In some spots you could
easilly be passed by 300,000 people in a day and if just 1% gave you a pound you'd make £300.
Back to the OP, If you go around like that beggar your gonna end up getting lamped, and noone will do anything about either because you don't
have an address so you can't press charges.
