Just seen that on the news, any normal fencing gang would have questioned that ?

"It has left local people who use the park to play football confused."

Seriously?
"Hey Dave there's a, fence? In the goal? Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr what are we gonna do?"
Maybe they should go old school and use their jumpers

On the basis of the "No-one is THAT f**king stupid" rule I can only persume the goalposts are going to be moved, possibly next week, rather than the council actually expect people to have to chip a fence every time

And talking of local councils wasting my money.....
Three weeks ago, they put yellow lines through the village where I live. Last week they resurfaced the road.......
Council blokey said they "painted the lines as a matter of urgency so that there wouldn't be a parking problem at easter..."
There has never been any yellow lines in the past or any real problems with parking. And easter, three weeks ago???
They've posted letters through the letterbox telling us not to park in the street for the next week or so in case they come to repaint the lines.....

Wasn't there incidents where a) some council douche painted yellow lines OVER a car and b) some council douche painted yellow lines up to the car's wheels, then stuck a ticket in the window?

No council is immune, at the bottom end of "the Port" they changed a 4-way intersection from lights, to a mini roundabout, then back to lights... Which confused the hell out of people but I thought better to realise and fix a mistake than just let everyone get around it.. Also last christmas they put a tree up, where no-one goes... and a 6foot fence round it...

i think this one is a non story! They are changing the leasure facilities at the park, the first step is putting a fence in. Maybe its a different contractor doing the fence, or maybe they couldnt be bothered pulling the goal posts out today; either way, in a few weeks, the posts will be gone, and nice new equiptment installed, as per the plan.

I dont believe any money has actually been wasted.

On a similar note, the story about painting yellow lines around a dead badger; the dudes who do the lines arent the same ones who move dead animals, and obviously if you havent been paid to do it, you wouldnt. Especially with health and safety, no equiptment for carcase removal, no training etc...

^ i agree with that, the only mistake was that they didn't take the old posts out. not a major failure. they were due to be taken out and moved anyway, just that wasn't done before the new fence went up.
had the posts been taken out first, no story.
slow news day i reckon
