Converting DWG Files
scootz - 30/6/11 at 10:01 PM

I have four DWG files that I want to open, but I don't have the necessary software.

Is there anyone out there who could open them and convert them to something that my Mac won't have a hissy-fit with

There's a cyber-pint waiting!

Cheers!

Email them to me and I'll convert them

What do you want to do with them?

I should be able to do them too (depending on the version they are saved as) and I can print off big copys if you need them (upto A0 width)

IIRC sketchup pro wouild be needed, DWG reading was removed from SU 6 onwards.

DWG True view would be best http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112

not sure if its mac compatible.

What files can you read on the mac?

I have full autocad so can save as DXF or similar if you want to email me them? (would have to be 2moro now tho!)

Get a copy of Draftsight it's free!

I can also open and re-save it for you (pm if your still stuck), but there should be a host of free viewers for it really, ive not hit google but we recomend larsons viewer for people who come back saying they cant open our CGMs (which is what we use for supplier drawings) or else we drop them into a PDF! Dont know if it does .dwg files.

Thanks very much for all the kind offers!

I managed to get the DraftSight application to work on my Mac, so I'm now in business!

Thanks again!
