Im after a new bed, i have the mattress and a headboard (soft covered, in chocolate swede, lol) but I need a frame for it to sit on that i can mount
the headboard to and as far as i can see all the wood frames come with integral wood headboards which i dont want. Short of buying a cheap one and
cutting the headboard off does anyone have any thoughts.
Im currently quite close to getting some oak planed up and making my own. Carnt be that hard!

make your own! Sometimes the headboard is actually screwed to the wall, and the frame and matress just pushed up to it.
i made my bed and covered it with leather

I saw an awesome bed in a 1 bedroom flat converted to a day museum when walking through old Palma in Mallorca...
I took a photo, but can't find it anymore, but I could draw it pretty easily.
It was 4 large lumps of wood, 1 each corner then joined with rolled steel...
Real simple and very very nice.
I've always fancied making my own bed - a four poster out of 4x4 timber or scaffold poles or something weird like that

when i was in new york i took a photo of an awesome bed in a shop. Much like mooky says, big 4" timbers in the corners, and black silk everywhere
