Worcester or ideal ?

im looking at a 28i Worcester bosch
or
ideal logic 30he

Worcester and Bosch are the same firm, the Worcester Bosch factory is about a mile down the road from me in Danesmoor.

out of the two, worcester, but if you want a really good combi look at remeha, intergas or viessman.
Remehas are good on price and come with a 5 year warranty.

I look after several hundred properties and I have a team of gas contractors - none of whom recommend Ideal boilers. They like worcester or vaillant mostly.

The problem with ideal seems to be durability and expected lifespan - expect the worcester to last 10 years + with little attention and the ideal to last about 5 with plenty of call outs according to my chaps.

I can reccomend Vaillant, more expensive than most.

Was recommended to me a couple of years ago by a friend who is a heating engineer, he had experienced problems with Worcester Bosch support, and now will only fit Vaillant.

my friend recommends intergas, for several rather techincal reasons. Something like only 4 moving parts, and maybe no plate exchanger, which he reckons makes it reliable.

I too found in my lengthy research almost all pros would only entertain Worcester-Bosch or Vaillant given the choice. I went for a Vaillant.

Worcester and Vaillant are the accepted market leaders in the UK, and both make decent boilers, but you need to be looking at their top models which are ££££, neither offer a decent warranty as standard .

There are better boilers out there, which are less well known..........trust me, i know

Another point to bear in mind, no matter what boiler you decide to go for, they are only as good as the person installing them,
If the system isn't cleaned properly you WILL have issues going forward.

I went for a vokera it come with 5years warranty and has been good as gold. apparently they are a copy of vaillant's previous years model. all i know is the house is toasty warm in the winter the hot water comes out of the hot tap every time and the gas bill went down by half compared to our old baxi that got binned. its also got an outdoor sensor so that it can compensate for external temp changes to run at bes efficiency.

Vailient for me. 5 year warrenty and good reputation + easily accessable supply of parts.

Key seems to be spend a day (yes day) power flushing post install and fit a magna clean just before the boiler.

(and thats what i did, 1 year in and no problems so far)
