The fountain of Locostbuilders knowledge is needed. Very off topic....
My wife and I are getting the kitchen re-done. Well, it was either that or a kit car for me..... so we went for the kitchen.
One thing we both agree on (yes, finally happened) is that we want a range cooker.
Trouble is we want to see what we are buying before we decide on one as its a big purchase. We have looked in brochures and online, but thats no good
when we are spending a lot of money on one.
We have looked in the local kitchen showrooms and DIY shops and so far only seen about 3 different ranges.
What we need is a shop that sells lots of ranges that we can look at and feel. But we can't find one.
Anyone know of a shop in the Peterborough area that has more than 2 range cookers on display?
There is a AGA shop in Lincoln. I think it might sell other stuff as well.
Thanks for the suggestion, but an Aga is a bit out of our.... (wait for it, theres a pun coming).... price range.
Dont buy a Belling we had one and it was a load of cr@p had it 4 years and got through 3 oven elements and 2 fans. They are badly put together its
like having two badly made cookers tacked together, the main oven burns things at one end and under cooks at the other and the timer is next to
useless being just a glorified timer not a programmer.
Range cooker shopping is really frustrating as no matter what shop you go to all you see is the same 6 cookers.
In the end I bought a Rangemaster professional pro 1000 in stainless from a small family run online company who beat everyone on price and delivered
free, the only place we could view one was at Wickes who stocked the 1200 model, really impressed with it well made and cooks to perfection.
I'll try and find the name of the supplier.
Rangemaster is part of Aga so you may see one in an Aga dealer.
Cheers,
Bob

Our local Comet superstore has about 12 different range cookers on display - that particular shop is no where near you but there must be a fairly local one............??
Not tried Wickes yet.
Not tried Comet, there is one local to me. Will pop in tonight
I went into a massive B&Q last night, dozens of kitchen displays, dozens of ovens, but just two ranges. Both from the same manufacturer.
But when we looked in the brochure of the kitchen suppliers there are about 50 or so to chose from. Thats whats most frustrating. The fact that there
IS a huge choice, but not seeing them in the flesh first.
But thanks for comments so far.
These are about the cheapest. http://mooresappliances.co.uk/

ive fitted a lot of rangemaster cookers, and they are very well made and designed. Plus my gasman is a service engineer for them so we have them well
covered
Ive seen some really bad makes in the past, but rangemaster are good. Plus their extractors are a joy to fit
For a great range of units, and design ideas, and maybe not too far from you, look at:

I got one from there last week, its very well priced. Spent around £3k with bosch appliances.
ALSO! Comet has discount codes for 10-15% off some items. Order and pay online and collect to avoid delivery charges and messing about waiting in.
will edit to add codes when i find them...

Rangemaster is great. We got a classic 110 dual fuel from good old ebay for approx 1/3 new price. Proffessional oven cleaner later and it was good as
new
. Also got the rangemaster splashback and hood from ebay. Brand new never used but still half price. Yay
