Hay guys and gals

Just wondered if anybody on here has owned a ducati monster?
One of the early ones of around 1995

Any thing i should look out for?

p.s. im changing from my vtr1000 so im more than used to a v twin but i want to go more with the street fighter style

p.p.s. anybody want to buy a vtr1000?

I had one for a couple of months, the air cooled lumps won't really set your pants on fire and the lower rev limit seems strange. Nice bikes and they will help slow you down as they're just not quick.

Ignore all the above if you decide to go for one of the liquid cooled ones. I had a s4r for about 6 months that was good fun

Spent a bit of time with a 95 and 97 900 monster, both great bikes but I am afraid the build quality on the 95 is pretty poor and paint around the engine area is as thin as it gets and wears off to easy. Service history is critical with all Ducati's but I am sure you are well aware of that.

Great bikes and a hoot around town which is what they are all about, they are also pretty good with a pillion on the back as long as you are not going to silly..

I had a 95 600 for about 1 month and hated it.
I've now gat a 05 SV650 naked which is evarything I thought the Monster was going to be.
Keep an eye on the timing belts (easily forgotten)

Any details and how much for the VTR?
