Anyone know how to remove the grill element form a Hotpoint oven?
John P - 26/10/11 at 12:18 PM

I need to remove the grill element from the main oven of an old Hotpoint 61370 oven.

The element is supported by a headed boss on the roof of the oven which suggests the element should pull forwards presumably from some form of socket at the back of the oven.

I've tried just pulling it but it's either very tight or secured in some way. There are no visible fixings inside the oven so it may be a case of taking the oven out and trying to get access from the back but I'm reluctant to do that just in the hope it's the correct procedure.

Does anyone here know how I should proceed?

John.

That model has the element fixed from the back. Oven out and back off I'm afraid, the element is held on by 2 nuts.

Thanks for that. At least when I take the oven out I'll know I'm not wasting my time.

Buy a new element before you attempt to take the old one out.

You will see how it is secured then

The part number "should" be C00613170. Find a supplier with a photo in the listing, Indesit have a habit of changing
parts at a whim.
Element man, UKWhitegoods.co.uk, eSpares, hotpointservice.co.uk you may find the price varies from around £50 to £125.
