Any free video overlay \ merger programs
bi22le - 27/10/11 at 09:23 PM

Hi all,

I have downloaded Trackmaster which is a datalogging app and it seems pretty impressive from the data I collected in a traffic jam tonight!

I have used racechrono2avi to edit the data into a video, thats fine and dandy.

I have a video, check. .

I have no method of getting one video ontop of the other and saving as one video. If I cant actually compile the data and footage into one, there is no point in doing it!!

Any ideas?

Cheers

By the way if I get this going and get good vids and data you will know about it, Ill be telling the world!!!!!!!

I suspect mencoder could do it, but it might be easier to write a script to overlay the text yourself rather than trying to combine two videos.

If you post an example screenshot from each file, and maybe a few lines of the source data, I'll be able to advise more.

I have put my laptop awa y now so will post up tomorrow.

Its not text though its two avi files. The datalogging vid is generated from a csv file.

Searching trackmaster trackaroo will get you screenshots and sample vids of what i am trying to achieve.

Thanks for the offer chris. ill pop back tomorrow!! Nap time now.

Picture in picture is the solution or you will have to use a program to strip out the background buts that's not simple trust me.
If you can get to the data stream then ChrisW idea could work.

if the data file avi is generated from a csv file then you should be able to cut out the middle man and combine the csv and the video avi somehow.

I don't know how to do it mind

Hi

There was a similar thread on the WSCC I have no idea if it will help you as i have not read it all. Just remembered seeing it.

Hi Matt,

That thread is funny. The guy that posts up about Racechrono completly missed the point.

Unfortunatly its not what I need.

I have two videos and want to make one! Or if I get a rear cam aswell in will be three vids in one!

Back to the same post I made first... post a screenshot from each video, and maybe a snippet from the CSV file (just 10 lines or so) and I'll see what I can do.
