good luck with the mdf....

I used it to back all my interior trim, and hopefully it wont see rain cos of the pvc 'leatherette'.

Ive just got a mould off a buck made from mdf and filler. as it was a bit sticky, i got the buck off by making it fall to bits with a screwdriver and hot water. a few seconds in hot water makes 18mm mdf fall apart like cardboard!

Would it seal with PVA?

Worth a try...

it seems to be drying out ok (the MDF that is). the garage was leaking due to the amount of moss growing on the roof. this caused puddling which then flowed up thru the overlaps. I've brushed a bit off, gonna finish it soon (now?!) for some reason, tools dont seem to mind getting wet, they all work still.

i was thinking of siliconing the roof, but it wouldnt stick to all the dirt etc.

Please be careful anyone who's cleaning their garage roof- just in case it's one of the old Asbestos specials!

I've been told that if moss grows on it then it's not Asbestos but let's not have anyone get Asbestosis please!

I've got some 19mm mdf offcut left on the yard for 2 years now and when it rains it gets wet then it dries out and goes back to its original size. I think I'll bin it now as the experiment is over .

My dad worked for Everite asbestos-cement products a good few years back. They made High pressure water pipes , drainage , roofing products and even flower pots!
He worked outwith the asbestos section but still came into contact with the samples. Think he was lucky! Theres a big legal thing going on with turners UK paying out to the workers in the mines.

No good stuff to work with! and there is still stax of it about.

My barn is all asbestos on an iron frame. From what I understand it's fine as long as you don't break it. It does have loads of moss growing on the roof tho!
