Dropped 300kg on my left index finger between nail and first knucle finger burst open and broke in 3 places. Went to hospital it was dead weird like my finger had no bone in it, just like harry potter. Getting drunk now to kill the pain.
bloody hell! i think ouch may be an understatment!! hope it heals okay
ouch
i wish you feel better soon.
What did you drop and where? If at work, it's a notifiable incident under RIDDOR.
ouch
did you type that with your right finger ?
If there are no pictures, then it didn't happen...
Any photos?
Edit - Scootz beat me to it...

At work. Got load suspended on chain blocks workmate loosened last bolt with out telling me, there you go.
Oooo i bet your boss is looking a bit nervous.
I've covered a lot of stuff like this in Health and Safety courses, i think someones going to need to rewrite your method statement/risk
assessments !!!
Hope it's not yer drinking hand
i smell compensation
how does it go....
where there is blame there is a claim
and pictures required........
*If* your in a union make sure you get a claim form from your rep
You're not kidding OUCH...
Here's to a speedy recovery... Cheers!
Self employed so no cliam also not classed as a lost time accident as i went back to work to finish my shift off, on light dutys of corse.
Does it look anything like this???
or this???

Similar to the bottom picture
Bloody hell mate I would've fainted straight away! I'm ok with anyone else's blood just not my own!
Hope it heals ok...
Shaw it will, feel very lucky as i could have lost it so easily. Having dressing changed on wednesday will get some pictures.

300kg! You're lucky it didn't take it clean off!
Here's to a speedy recovery & hope the pain at least remains bearable! Doesn't sound anywhere near as spectacular as when I out the
3" hole saw thro' my face, but I only had myself to blame!
Ouch indeed, wishing you a speedy recovery.
Sadly it seems there are a few here encouraging the old claim culture
The word "Accident" will be deleted from our dictionaries soon.

i believe for most it was meant in a jovial manner.
but then again if is happend through no fault of his own and he is genuinely hurt to the point where it will affect him making living and putting food
in his kids mouths, then why shouldn't he claim. there is a big difference between people screwing the system to make a quick penny and someone
that genuinely entitled to claim.

BIG OUCH!
Hope all goes well with the recovery.
Go into work and use your other hand to enter it into the accident book.
Get your union involved (if you are amember), or get a good solicitor.
Any compensation will take a very long time, as they need to see the recovery and how well it repairs / heals, and what (hopefully none) permanant
damage has been done.
Mate of mine had about 5 years of crap, after falling off a set of aircraft steps (the big ones on a lorry) and landing on his heel and shattering
it.
He now has aches and pains especially at this time of the year.
Make sure you get anything that you are entitled to.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

There are a lot of nerves in fingers, you have my sympathy. I once trapped both my index fingers in a chain at a foundry I was working in, pulled them out leaving one nail behind and badly bruising the other. I also had another where a casting rolled on my little finger and burst it but didn't break it and the joint swelled up and had to be aspirated with a big needle then 7 stitches up the inside to hold it in. It healed perfectly except in cold weather it looks blue and is a bit reluctant to move. Don't let anyone put you off claiming you have a right to whatever you can get for your pain caused in the pursuit of someone else's profit.
er...where does the money come from for a claim? who ends up paying for it in the long run? good on you for just getting on with it!
so where are the pictures then ???

Unfortunately you can't legislate for f*cking idiots.
I use a saying;
"you can make it fool proof, but you can't make it idiot proof".
