Ever so light in leeds
Does 15 mins of hail on the coast in Essex count? I might have to call in and say I can't make it in tomorrow.....
Yup, maybe half an inch here and frozen solid, the numptys sat in first gear stuck spinning their wheels trying to get up the ever so slight hump
outside my house are out in force already

Just a light dusting here, but frozen solid now.
Reliably informed its snowing in Fraserburgh...
Snow in the rain in Derbyshire, not settling, so no problems hopefully.
Cold in Newcastle - and nightshift, no snow.
Light dusting on the cars in the next village up at the top of the hill.

I'm in Rowlands Gill, it was High Spen with the light dusting (about 11am).
Was sleeting in Newburn around 10am.
Pavements have some icy spots tonight.
Hail here in south Cumbria. Bloody cold when I popped out earlier.
Rich

Cold ???

We had a bit dusting of the stuff this morning, still on the hill tops round about.
It's 2 degC inside my workshop, new heater under construction!
We are not allowed snow in Leicester. Its just not p.c enough
A light covering of snow now here.
8" here.......
NOT
About an inch here, laid on frozen rain. Glad my GT4 is running again, drove the peugeot out of the drive and nearly didn't get it back in. GT4
didn't even break step, if it wasn't for the white I wouldn't have known it was snowy
I love snow.
25*C and sunny here in Auckland (Except it's night time).
I'm sort of not looking forward to going home later this month. 7-8 hours of
dim daylight and overcast, moist weather does my head in.
snow this morning in leeds at my work. just nice and sunny now.
my bimmer was fun when the snow settled in the carpark.
If we get heavy snow in Leeds i might cry - the Niva is out of MOT at the minute!!

we did get a little bit of white stuff in edinburgh (sat night / sun morrning) - but not enough to call it 'real' snow
...it is cold enough to stop me finishing my new shed floor though

hi about an 1'' or 2'' up here, some roads closed this morning but stopped snowing now. snow started last night and it was
settling.
steve
I have just done a two way journey Blantyre to Ayr, East Kilbride to Fenwick was quite nasty, not helped by the the green welly brigade driving Range Rovers & VW Touraregs like idiots. The female driving the VW had made no attempt to clear 4 inches of snow off the windscreen or any other window or mirror and had simply turned on the wipers and drove off through Eaglesham this was at 8.50 am with schools going in , the Range Rover driver nearly caused a multi-vehicle pile up by cutting from the outside lane to get to a slip road when it was already too late --- luckily the truck driver had already anticipated he was dealing with a plonker. Plonker of the day goes to the 3 series driver who managed to go on to the grass and hit a bollard on a stretch just south of Kilmarnock where the roads were almost completely clear.
I was amazed by the number of people with snow socks on today, and the shear weight of traffic going nowhere. And the number of people driving faster
than I was, considering I was happily enjoying some controlled and carefully placed sideways action in a full time 4WD rally-esque car, there were
people in FWD runabouts booting it round roundabouts faster than I would want to risk! And someone in a Rangerover doing 25 in the 60 sections holding
the entire world up despite it being just a bit wet on the road.

All-wheel-drive with LSD, mid-engined Bongo Bus with brand new knobbly-bobbly snow tyres. Kitted out with stove, fuel water, food, shovels, blankets, snow chains, spare clothes, winter woolies, and a scraper attached to a furry mitt. Bring on the snow!!

Ah, well, it's a bit of a pet hate of mine.....
The journey from my house to work involves some steep hills, travelling over some high moor roads and most of these roads are not high priority for
snow clearance. In my opinion, you should not be out on the roads in an unsuitable vehicle. I have seen so many crashes, pulled cars out of ditches,
sat behind cars woefully unsuitable for the road conditions and its usually the same type of clueless twonk in a vehicle with wide low profile tyres,
wondering why they can't burn their way through the ice. Similarly, if you can't drive in the snow, or you're too scared to venture
beyond a crawl in first gear, stay at home. Get the feck out of my way! Its winter. The nice weather folks on the telly don't always get it right
but looking out of the window will give you a clue.....
So, any cars I intend to usef in the snow have snow tyres and/or snow chains. They have enough gear to get me and my family home or enough crisps and
pop to keep us alive until those pillocks blocking the road get out of the way.
Amen...

I was the only car crawling up the ice hill near work today, while X5's and a few others were sat

I've literally GOT to go back in the winter. Loved the place, absolutely loved it. Need to see the northern lights and the snow, as well as doing some 4x4ing in the interior.
Our hire car had them "always on" so didn't really notice to be honest, but I did find that I would drive to places and go sight seeing at 3am and wonder why I felt a bit tired - midnight sun is very very confusing for the brain! Spent hours sat beside ice bergs watching them roll over and over and creak and crunch.
^^ we didn't have to deal with midnight sun, just 2-3 hours of daylight max
had a few comedy moments here:
the path was covered in 4" of solid ice nearly all the way - and you'll know what some of the drop off's are like
