IS IT A SCAM???

Hi everyone, at the company i work at we have a small piece of concrete that we rent to a hand car wash run by some guys from iraq.
Now they pay the rent on time and seem to be good honest guys who work hard but here is the thing they keep coming into the office to get the names changed on the lease every 6 months or so.
Is this a scam? do they get a goverment grant to start a business then swop to another name for a new grant?
Im sure they are up to something your opinions please

If they are not EU nationals they are probably here on 6 month student/visting VISAs, meaning they have to go home very 6months.
The Dominos I used to work in did the same with the indian workers, but now they just employ polish as they can stay forever

more likely due to owner change. they tend to come in get a boat lod of cash and do a runner. close the company down for someone to start a new one.

they pay them self a really high wage and go into liquidation and leave just sponges and soap as company owned stuff i thinks....

Sounds a bit like the stunt the Paddies used to pull. Work here 5 months and 29 days, then say they were going back to Eire, so no income tax.
Your firm needs to be careful that they don't get roped in as co-conspiritors in any fraud.

Yes, be careful, if it happens regularly the Law says you should have noticed .

Run away, run away.... I do love these people. come into the country generally illegally, work for cash in hand, no money comes back into our economy, they pocket it, pay no tax, no NI bleep all, then bleep off back across to wherever and send more over....

This country is a wash of people like this...

Ah. ^ But for one, they're willing to work which is more than a lot of our nationals and it's the people of this country putting the money into their pockets.
It's our own fault for not being more responsible.

I PUT AN ADD IN MY LOCAL JOB CENTRE FOR A PART TIME CLEANER 10HRS A WEEK ,WELL OVER 100 PEOPLE APPLYED FOR THE JOB 90% HAD WHAT I WOULD CALL BRITISH NAMES .

Imo most of these hand car wash places should be shut down. They are full of illegals who only take cash and give nothing back in tax. I would never use them let alone rent space for them to set one of these operations up on.

it would be quite amusing to terminate the lease and then set up your own car wash on the plot! They earn quite good money in a busy spot.

Also read Environment Agency PPG13 and get advice on this while you are at it. Your company may be liable for polluting runoff if allowing car washing to be carried out on its property.

There could be a simpler explanation. Maybe they're just a front for Al Queda. They make their bombs then booger of to go and use them.
