Any one know where to get a replacement cartridge thingy.

B & Q do replacement cartridges such as at

I found it best to take the old one out and take it with you as lengths etc can vary.

You also need to make sure the old handle fits OK as I did one where the fixing screw was too short and the female thread in the new cartridge a different size.

Suggest that you try your local plumbing store, Homebase are absolutely useless with regards getting spares for anything they sell. We purchased a set of taps with ceramic inserts/seats and our local plumbing shop had exactly the correct parts. Worth a try. HTH Ray

+1 on the local plumbers merchant and take your own one along.

The thing I found when I got new inserts for the kitchen mixer was that the ceramic valve was absolutely fine, but the selection of O-rings had gone hard and were leaking. Of course I only found this out when I had installed the new ones and was carrying out a post mortem...

If you have access to a lathe, I've fixed mine by skimming about half a millimeter off of the main shoulder and the end of the cartridge. this puts more load on the end seal.

the taps on my sink in the gararge are almost identical to them and were only about 20 quid from tool staion
