new lap top gone ultra widescreen, how do i change it?

turned my new toshiba laptop on yesterday and it just seems to have gone ultra widescreen when i go on line, i can hardly read the writing on the forums as the page is so stretched.
how do i change back to original settings? am useless with computers! cheers

im guessing its windows 7 but its similar enough for xp/vista

right click somewhere on the desktop (not on a file), then click Screen Resolution

you should just have to drag the slider across to the right until its at its maximum, if not play about until you happy with it.

if you get it wrong and screen goes black - wait 15 seconds and it will revert back if you dont confirm.

If you're using Internet Explorer, press Ctrl and '0' together to reset the zoom back to 100% in case it's got set really high by mistake.

^ good call, if its only on the internet, check the bottom right hand corner of the window, there should be a magnifying glass with a plus in it, check the number next to it is 100%, not anything higher

Glad you got it sorted It's really easy to accidentally set the zoom level too high because you can change it by holding down the CTRL key and scrolling the centre mouse wheel up and down as I found out once!
